In celebration of Fiesta, FLAMENCO Santa Barbara invites you to an intimate show featuring young artists from Maria Bermudez Flamenco Performing Arts paired with musicians from around the world.

Maria Bermudez, Artistic Director

Jose Cortes (cante)

Alex Jordan (guitar)

Gerardo Morales (cajón)

Jose Cortes is an award-winning Gypsy singer. Born into an important Gypsy Family of Almeria, his career has taken him around the world since beginning his career at age 10 in Jerez, Spain where he won the coveted “PREMIO DEL JOVEN AFICIONADO DEL CANTE.”

Percussionist Gerardo Morales studied at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Cristóbal de Morales in Sevilla, Spain.  As a Pop Latin percussionist, Gerardo toured with LA’s Burning Star and shared the stage with The Black-Eyed Peas and Christina Aguilera.

Guitarist Alex Jordan has toured throughout Latin America with well-known musicians including Marc Anthony, Alejandro Sanz and Ivan Vargas.

Maria 'LA Chacha' Bermudez is one of the most renowned flamenco artists of our time.  She has exposed audiences across the world to the unique style and sound of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain —  the birthplace of Flamenco.  Her performances have graced venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Lope de Vega, Lincoln Center, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
