James and Jake became friends at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA years before they each married Collier sisters, hence the name The Brothers Collier. Family is as important to them as music is, though for both, the lines between music and family are blurred. Getting their start within a church music context, the Brothers Collier recognize that music is so much more (but definitely no less) than the melody itself. Having supported each other’s musical projects from metal house shows to Christmas albums, The Brothers Collier is a collective of musical experiences and expressions centered around stories told through relationships.
