Grammy Award-Winning Guitarist Albert Lee Returns to SOhO

ALBERT LEE is a 2X Grammy Award-winning guitarist who is celebrated by fans and musicians the world over for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique. Lee is one of the most renowned rock ‘n’ roll and country guitarists in music history, having worked with The Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris, Joe Cocker, Jackson Browne, Bill Wyman, and The Crickets over his long and illustrious career. The British-born country-rock artist started his career during the emerging rock 'n' roll scene of the 60s in London, and after moving to the U.S., Albert quickly garnered a reputation as one of the premier guitarists in the business, a title which he maintains to this day. He has recorded a number of solo albums and has won Grammys with Brad Paisley and Earl Scruggs. In addition to his Grammy wins, Albert has received many awards as a guitarist, which includes winning Guitar Player Magazine's "Best Country Guitarist” award five consecutive times.

Lee is known within the music industry for his speed of playing and his technical virtuosity. He is often referred to as "the guitar player's guitar player” and "Mr. Telecaster." Albert's 1979 original song, "Country Boy" helped to redefine country guitar for a whole generation of players and later became a #1 hit for multi-instrumentalist Ricky Skaggs. Albert loves the road and continues to tour with his quartet to this day. He plays his signature Ernie Ball Music Man Guitar and also dazzles audiences with his piano playing and vocal skills. Albert’s hand-picked repertoire will please anyone who attends his live performances, and this year is no exception.

Albert’s  2024-25 tour through the USA, Canada, and England celebrates the release of his latest album, LAY IT DOWN, a tribute to some of Albert's favorite artists and biggest inspirations recorded at the legendary Konk Studios in London (March 2024). From Mark Knopfler's blistering “Setting Me Up” to Jimmy Webb's soaring piano ballad “Too Young To Die,” to The Everly Brothers' storming hit “The Price Of Love,” LAY IT DOWN is Albert Lee’s triumphant return to the studio and live recording, and clearly reaffirms him as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

“The ultimate virtuoso. His skill is extraordinary, his ear is extraordinary, and he’s gifted on just about every level.” – Eric Clapton

"When Saint Peter asks me to chronicle my time down here on earth, I'll be able to say - with pride if that's allowed - that for a while I played rhythm guitar in a band with Albert Lee." –  Emmylou Harris

"To hear Albert Lee play guitar is a joy I've never experienced with any other musician." – Dave Edmunds
